Evangelism competition

Remember we talked about how we should not have "competition" in evangelism. But it was also pointed out that we usually do not have this problem. Usually the problem is that people don't evangelise. Let me add on a little to that.

It is my opinion that whenever we evangelise, it can potentially have this problem of evangelising for the wrong reason. We need not have many many before it becomes a problem. It could just be one person. But when pride comes, the problem grows. It is a heart problem, not so much a problem of evangelising to many.

Let me extend it a little more. It is not only in evangelism that this is a problem. It is true for all that we do for God. CS Lewis have this phrase to describe it - Spiritual Pride. Must be wary of it. It is very difficult to squash. I say that out of personal experience. All the more it must be killed. It is such an ugly thing, yet so alive and difficult to kill.
